The day before payday vs. 5 minutes after direct d The day before payday vs. 5 minutes after direct deposit 😅

If your spending changes based on your bank balance, it’s not a willpower issue.

It’s a system issue.

This is why I use (and have my financial coaching clients use) Monarch Money-so you’re not guessing based on what’s in your account, you actually have a plan for it.

Payday shouldn’t restart the cycle, it should move you forward.

If you want to get out of this pattern, send me a message or comment “PLAN” and I’ll share how to get started.

2,000 Peloton classes today. And honestly… it did 2,000 Peloton classes today.

And honestly… it didn’t look like I thought it would.

I was sick for almost 3 weeks from infections and chronic illness and didn’t work out at all.
Then we had spring break, and I DO NOT work out on vacation.
This week? Not much sleep thanks to perimenopause and life doing its thing.

But here’s what I’ve learned—progress doesn’t come from being perfect.
It comes from being flexible.

We pivot.
We adjust.
We keep showing up when we can, and we give ourselves grace when we can’t.

That’s how you still hit the goal.

This is exactly what I tell my clients with their finances too.
📢You don’t need to be rigid to make progress.
📢You need to be consistent over time and kind to yourself along the way.

Today I’m celebrating this milestone…
by planning a full day off and being present at the beach.

Because celebration and rest is part of the process too. 🧡

Doing my homework at the beach for my Money & Rela Doing my homework at the beach for my Money & Relationships class, and I keep thinking about how much systems theory is going to help the couples I work with.

Systems theory reminds us that money problems are rarely just about money. They’re about patterns, roles, communication, stress, family history, and the way families influence each other without even realizing it.

A few things I’m already seeing that will help my clients:
• The problem is often the pattern, not the person.
• Couples get stuck in repeating cycles around money
• When one person changes their behavior, the whole system changes.
• Blame keeps couples stuck, but understanding the system creates movement.

This is the work I love and it’s so worth my money and time to continue learning and evolving my practice.

Money is never just math. It’s a relationship.
